It is with great sadness to learn of the passing of Madge and to meet her remains at St Peter’s Church on Thursday night.
I express my sincere and deepest sympathy to her nephew Sean Walsh and Assumpta, her Niece’s and Nephew’s,The extended Kelly, Killoughy and Walshe families, Madges neighbours in Talbot Avenue, and many friends.
I have known Madge for my lifetime, and during my youth have great memories of visiting the Killoughy’s home with my parents and receiving a great welcome from Madge, her mother and brother Frank ( Francie) and nephew Sean Walshe. Meeting Madge and her husband Tommy at early morning Mass in the Friary Church on Sunday mornings during my working life and the Friary years alway’s kept me in touch, and it was alway’s a great pleasure to chat with them. Madge and Tommy were a very affable couple and they were greatly revered and respected by the entire community, a testimony borne out by the large turnout at her funeral. Indeed Tommy Kelly and Madge were synonymous with the business community during their lifetime, Madge in Gentex, and Tommy as head chef in the Marist Bros Community, and through his well known Hackney business. A lasting memory while Visiting Madge in Talbot Avenue in her late years, “Prime a Proper” as alway’s and her cosy home ;- “Picture postcard stuff”.

I am sorry to hear of your Aunt Madge's death. My sympathy to all the Walshe and Killoughy nephews, nieces and their extended families , especially Sean and Assumpta and family who cared so well for Madge. I knew Tommy, Sadie and Madge in the 40's when they played music, danced and sang in Kilcar Hall. They could do a good job. Madge is happily united with all her deceased family as ye lay her to rest in Drum with Tommy and Gloria. May she rest in peace.
