Dear Orla, Derval and Clodagh - What a wonderful woman and what a great life well led. We will miss " aunty" Maeve, one of the very last of the Zambian , indeed early Irish Rhodesians of the 50s. From Glasnevin to Kitwe to Lusaka and then to Dalkey, she was the quintessential Irish woman of her time - old school, independent and open to all that her intriguing and eventful life threw at her. My Mom and Dad loved her and Joe and, before the word was popular, they certainly had the "craic" in the early days as they raised their two young families in a country that they loved but always proud of the country from where they had come. I am sure that her passing brings back memories also of your Dad, I hope that after your grief has subsided that you and your families will be able to rejoice in those rich memories of your fabulous parents.
