It is with great sadness I read today in the Obituaries section of the Sunday Independent the passing of Maeve. My condolence to the two Val's.
Maeve was an amazing human being who endeavoured to live life to the full. It was my pleasure in 1990 to bring Maeve and the 2 Vals along with 15 other artists with different disabilities to exhibit their paintings in the Berlyamount building of the European Commission on St.Patrick's Day during Ireland 6 month term as President of the EU. She was an amazing Ambassador for people who had a disability and delivered a fantastic speech at the opening of the exhibition. It was the beginning of many more occasions when Maeve exhibited her works of art having started out painting impressionist floral art pictures in oils and moving on to using gouache paints and her subject matter minimalistic floral art pictures and ultimately as her eyesight diminished she created beautiful Romantic Landscape pictures.
She enriched the lives of all who came in contact with her especially myself . Even though that was nearly 30 years ago I could never forget her.

Maeve was an absolute lady and such a talented artist. She loved her nice perfumes and bits and pieces. I looked forward to chatting with her when she called. I hope you are wrapped up nice and warm now, RIP Maeve.
