My deepest sympathy to Mary, Bernie, Barbara, Clare, Anthony, Maxi, Eamon and all their families on the loss of your Mum, Auntie Mai. The most thoughtful aunt - sending cards and best thoughts for every event (including a lottery ticket wishing good luck). She sure was surrounded by a wonderful large loving family. She had a life well lived. She will be sadly missed by us all.

While we only met Mai during the wedding of our daughter, Melinda to Mai's grandson Darragh, we could not fail to notice the love, affection and respect she was held in by all members of her family. She must have been a grand lady to be afforded such great respect. We are sad our opportunities to get to know her more were limited.

Mai was an absolute lady, a gentle soul who always has such a positive outlook on life. The Irish cancer society will be always indebted to her for her tireless years of fundraising outside the Ulster bank (Mai's Spot) in Ennis every March for daffodil day.
