Belated condolences to the Stephenson/Colbert family on the death of Mai, beloved friend of Dorothy and many many more. It is with great sadness and regret that I heard of her passing and only now responding. Mai's stature in life was immense and far reaching and appeared easy - it was not without thought and effort and the support of Niall and her family - your loss is immense. Her Spirit is still here, hovering nearby. E.V. Counihan

It was with huge sadness that I heard of the passing of Mai. It does not seem long ago that she spoke to me about yet another fundraise for India, which as always, she was so passionate about.
Mai was a President of the Regent Bridge Club and in that role had the respect of all the members. She was renowned for her generosity in donating beautiful pieces of jewellery for Club Charity events and renowned for giving of her time, be it those tasty salmon sandwiches she made for social and charity events or for just doing what needed to be done.
Mai was a lady at and away from the Bridge table, a very fine player with a lovely presence at the table and a lady with style. The Regent Bridge Club, now in its hundredth year, will dearly miss her and she will not be forgotten for her kindness and generosity throughout many years.
With sincere sympathy to Niall, their family, extended family and Mai’s siblings.
May Mai rest in peace.

A beautiful service for such an amazing lady. I’m so proud to have had you as my amazing Aunty. To dear Uncle Niall, Caroline, Ian, Barry, Niamh. I was devastated to hear the news. I haven’t stopped going back in time thinking about all the fun times growing up with you all. To Caroline with her red Honda motorbike, Ian with his wine coloured Mazda, helping Barry with making snowballs for fights with his friends, and of course Niamh, I loved every Saturday meeting up with you, working at the shop, borza, movie rental whilst Mai and Niall went out for dinner. I miss those days. Aunty Mai was the glue of the whole family, it’s where everyone went, and any excuse I was there. So many memories have come back to me, I was so lucky to have had all my amazing Aunts and Uncles, but Mai and Niall became so much more, they were my second parents. I can’t even begin to imagine what you are feeling. Please accept my sincere condolences. Love to you all. X

Ian on behalf of the Club President, Officers and members, our condolences to you and the Stephenson family on your mothers passing.
Sincere condolences from all at Knocklyon Bridge Club at the sad loss of our friend and colleague Mai.
Mai was a former President and long time benefactor to the club. Mai donated the trophy that still bears her name, the Stephenson Trophy. This is competed for every October and will ensure her name lives on at our club. She was also very generous with her time and a great supporter of our charity nights. After her presidency she continued to be a great help behind the scenes. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
