I had the pleasure of been taught by her in Shantalla school and have very fond memories of her funny, caring ways. It turned out she was a very good friend of my late Aunt Joan Barrett. I would often of met Mrs Kelly in later years and she would always remember my brother's and I from school and stop for a chat.

We are so sorry to hear about the sad passing of Maire, she was such a lovely lady. Marie was a sub teacher in Maree National school in the early 90s when our twins Maisie kate and Padraic Keane started school. She was so kind and gentle and always played cds in the morning when the children arrived. Years later, Padraic was awarded thr Gratham ceol Tg4 when he was 19 for uilleann pis, Maire sent the most beautiful letter, congratulating him. You are all in our thoughts today❤❤❤

I was shocked and saddened to hear today of the passing of a dear friend and former neighbour in Woodquay, Maire O'Donnell. It was a pleasure to have known her. She was a beautiful lady full of goodness and kindness and I have many happy memories of time spent in her company. I will always remember her lovely smile. I have always loved receiving her Christmas cards each year and she never forgot our family.

I am in shock Brendan. Just after reading Maura’s death notice on R. I. P. She was a wonderful friend, so kind, friendly, and always a joy to chat to.
