I was very sad to hear of Mairead’s death. I was fundraising with her and she was very kind to me. She was so full of life. Deepest sympathy to all of the Butler family.

My sincere condolences to all Maireads family. I met Mairead at art college in Galway in the 90’s. She took me under her wing for a while and I was in awe of her coolness, I always will be. She was bold and beautiful and brilliant. What an honor to have spent those precious and fun times with her. Rest in Peace Mairead.

My strongest memory of Mairead was at a xmas party a few years. She was very personable and chatty; and I can still remember how much laughter she brought to the gathering. Rest in peace Mairead- yourself and your family are in our thoughts.

My love and thoughts are with Mairead's wonderful family and her many, many friends. She was a force of nature and a true friend. I will remember her sense of humour, her intellect, her kindness, passion for life and her creativity. She was always interested in other peoples lives and other peoples stories. She always had a plan and she was always making something. She was one of life's warriors and she taught me so much. I will miss her so much.

Mairead worked with us for a number of years in the DIT Students Union. She was always so vibrant and full of life and usually up to some unique way of making life a little bit better for the students of DIT! That she is still remembered so fondly by so many of her colleagues a decade later is testament to the wonderful strength of her character.
