Mairead Falvey

To Rena and all the Falvey family, I very belatedly heard of Mairead's passing, but nevertheless I was deeply saddened and numbed on hearing this news. Mairead was a wonderful person to interact with inside and out of work. She was very understanding, very willing to help and always approached tasks with a great sense of cooperation and with very good humour. She treated everybody with respect and kindness. I find it hard to accept that Mairead has passed from this life and I can only imagine the enormity of the loss that you and your family have had to endure. I sincerely hope that all the wonderful experiences that you had with Mairead and all the warm condolences that people have sent you will bring you great comfort as the days go by. Rena and family, I was so sorry to hear, only today, of Mairead's passing. She was always so cheerful, bubbly, kind & caring. You always felt better for having met her. Such sad news. I started working in Foster Place way back in the mid eighties and Mairead was one of the first people to make me feel welcome and whisk me off to lunch. Actually, that thought popped into my mind just the other evening as I walked down Suffolk St. A truly beautiful person, such fun and the kindest of souls. My sincere condolences to all Mairead’s family. May she Rest in Peace.

I feel so privileged to have known Mairead. I met her through our choir, The Sonatinas. When I joined, like so many of us experienced, herself and Rena were so kind and welcoming and I knew instantly they were two very special people.

Mairead was such a kind, caring and selfless friend and everyone who knew her loved her. She had a gift of making everyone feel special. I will treasure the memories, the chats, the beautiful messages and the fun we had. She will be greatly missed. Ní bheidh a leithéid ann aris. Rest in peace my beautiful friend x
