Myself and my wife Marian wish to convey our deepest sympathies to the Gillespie family on Mairead’s passing. I met Mairead 53 years ago when I started in my first job in Plessey in Swords, Co. Dublin. She took me under her wing and we remained friends ever since. This friendship continued when she moved to London and again when she returned to New Ross. My loveliest memories of her are on board her and David Jupp’s boat, “Joselou” moored on the Thames and more recently in New Ross having fish and chips in the Dunbrody Restaurant, which we did regularly. Mairead always enjoyed her food and her glass of wine and the chat. She was full of spirit, laughter and joy. I will miss you my friend. Rest in peace now - your work is done.
