I walked into your house for the first time when I was 12 years old. Mairead treated me as a guest. She told me thereafter I would be treated as 'one of the family' and that never changed over all these years. Second visit to the house had me on 'tea duty'.

She was more than a friend, more like a second mother. I consider myself so lucky to have been her friend for 43 years. I admired her resiliency over the years, her unwavering love for her family and her kindness to her friends. She will be missed and my love and thoughts to you her family at this time. Mairead, may your rest in peace
