So sorry to hear of the sad loss of dear Malachi. I was delighted to catch up with him last September when he kindly arranged a reunion of our UCD science colleagues.
I was very sorry to hear of passing of Malachi. Malachi was day boy, whilst i was a boarder. Class of 1963. From what i vaguely remember Malachi was also in Willow. My memory of him was a lad with a lovely smile,we were not direct friends, but "suffered" the same classroom "tortures" My deepest sympathy to his wife and all his family. pat burns.
I’m so sorry to hear of Malachi’s death. My sincere sympathy to Mary and Ellen and all the Spain family. I have very fond memories of our childhood together, especially meetings together in the grove and the fun we had there. Unfortunately as Adults our lives took us on separate paths. But cousins always have strong memories together. May Malachi rest in peace.
My sincerest sympathy on the death of Malachi.
I was at school with Malachi but I was not in touch over the years.
However, I was one of of the Year of 63 guys which met on the last Tuesday of each month in Costa, Dun Laoghaire. He was a true gentleman and he will be sadly missed in our little group of coffee drinkers.
May he rest in peace.

Very sad to hear of Malachi’s passing. I knew him for many years through the Act Up group. Always there with a kind word or nod of encouragement from the wings. Things were never just good , there were “splendid”.
What most inspired me about Malachai was his fearlessness to throw himself into life regardless of age. He didn’t hold back, he gave it his all. RIP Malachai.

I was very sorry to read of Malachi's death. He and I soldiered together through Sister Josephine's class in Haddington Road when we were about four years old to the age of eight, over 70 years ago. Apart from the odd row about ownership of marbles, it was an idyllic time. My sincere sympathy and prayers to his loving family. My father was a colleague of his father in the Mater.
So sorry to hear of Malachi's passing, bringing to an end over 60 years of friendship through school, college, and after that.
Sincere condolences to all the family.

Heart broken for the passing of a pure gentleman. A man who is such a great storyteller. A man who sees the greatest in all of us. A man who creates great company and relishes the banter. A friend who I will dearly miss. Rest in peace.
So sad to hear this terrible news. Malachi and I were school buddies from over 65 years ago and our friendship extended over this time span. A group of classmates met each month in Dunlaoire for a coffee and chat and a great natter over the 65 year time span. One of natures gentlemen - and he will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Prayers offered.
My sincere condolences to Mary, Mary-Elizabeth, Sheila and all the Spain family on the sad loss of your Dad. I'm thinking of you all, Aisling
Malachi Spain,
You were a one in a million friend to me in my time in Dublin six years ago.
Your wisdom, guidance & kind help has guided me through my 20s, when I was feeling pretty lost and aimless.
You backed us when no one understood what we were doing & we wouldn't be doing what we love today without your backing & early helping hand.
You never looked for anything in return, always with a kind word & a smile. One of the most positive & upbeat older gentlemen I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We always felt lighter & at ease after an hour with Malachi chatting over a coffee or a few beers!! Thank you Malachi, my wise old friend.
Rest in peace Malachi you were a true maverick, I will never forget you. Thank you & see you again on the other side my friend. Xxx
