Sincere condolences to Owen, Keziah, Kate, Tom and Sr Elizabeth on Margaret's sudden passing. Margaret was a brilliant teacher and was very kind to her pupils. She was a wonderful friend; kind, caring, gave sound advice and enjoyed the craic.Most of all, she was utterly devoted to her family, of whom she often spoke. May the memories of the happy times you shared with her comfort and sustain you.

I was a student of Mrs. D'arcy's when she started out as a new teacher in O'Fiaich. There were 3 Irish classes for Leaving Cert - Honours, Pass and the No Hopers! I was in the No Hopers class and new energetic teacher walked in. I was always struck that she believed in us despite our lack of ambition and belief that we could pass the exam. Her classes were always very good and she worked hard and encouraged us and built us up. I left school a few months before the Leaving but came back to do the exams. When I arrived in for the oral I was expecting to go in first and get it done. She took me to a room and drilled me for almost an hour to get me ready for the oral. I passed my Irish and was so happy as this was my weak subject and I had almost given up before Mrs. D'arcy took our group. I always wanted to thank her but never did.
