To Catherine, David and all Margaret's extended family, I wish to offer my deepest condolence. Margaret lived for her family and was the old style Mammy. Once you were happy, she was happy. She was so loving and caring, with a great sense of humour. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

I am so sad to learn of Rita’s passing. There are things that she used to say that I now say to my children, such as ‘if I could get into the toaster, I would.’ Always causes confusion and a little more patience!

Her fantastic cooking skills, steak and kidney pies, Christmas puddings and so many other things. Her infinite kindness and thoughtfulness. There will never be another like her.

I hope she is celebrating now with her two great loves, her mam and George.

Mags I cant believe im writing this, no words can ever describe the love and bond we shared. The best years of my life was caring for you. A beautiful lady with a smile that would light up a room, a sense of humour that would have me crying laughing i always told you, you should have been on stage, the warmest hugs and most of all that big heart that always made me feel welcome and loved in your home. I will cherish every moment i had with you until we meet again my dearest friend. Give Katherine and David the strength to get through this very difficult time. Rest now with the angels, love you always, Sinead.

From the first time I met Mrs Gorey 43 years ago, I was on her Christmas card (and never ending present) list!

She welcomed me with open arms into her home and was, in my eyes, the perfect Irish mammy! Always cooking, baking, sewing or fussing over her precious family as well as holding down a full time job!

Such a kind soul with a heart of gold, a legacy she has passed on to my dearest friend Katherine.

As they say in life “you reap what you sow”, and she certainly did. She looked after her family when they needed her to and when her turn came to be looked after, Katherine and Dave couldn’t have done any more.

Take comfort in the fact that you both were her greatest achievements and her heart will live on in yours❤️

I'm deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Margaret's passing. My sincere condolences to Katherine David and extended family. Mags was a beautifull lady with the biggest of heart's who made everyone feel so welcome in her home. She will be sadly missed. May she rest in peace.
