Margaret Humphreys

Our deepest sympathies on the passing of our dear friend, Margaret.

Margaret resided near us in Rathgar, and when we learned she was a fellow Corkonian, and with our shared interest in the Arts and academia, a firm friendship formed, which has continued down through the years.

Sadly, we were unable to visit her in Cork in recent years due to Eileen's illness, but she was very good to come up and visit us in Dublin before she became ill herself.

We are so sorry to have missed the funeral. Had we been able to attend, we would have been there.

May she rest in eternal peace. We will miss our friend dearly.

I was very saddened to hear of Margaret's passing. I knew Margaret from our work in the Department of Folklore in UCC where she worked with the international students. She was a great advocate for folklore and greatly enjoyed sharing different aspects of the discipline with others. She always had a lovely radiant smile. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam

We have fond memories of her visits to our house when she would regale my late mother and the girls' grandmother with tales from her visits to the racecourses in the UK and the style of the royals, the Queen Mother in particular.
