I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to all of Ita’s family. May she rest in peace.
I trained as a nurse in St James’s Hospital from 1969 to 1972 and feel very fortunate that Ita was one of my Nurse Tutors. She was an excellent teacher and was always very professional.
At a European level she contributed greatly to the work involved in implementing E.U. Directives for Nursing which greatly improved the standard of Education/Training in Ireland.
Condolences to Ita's family. Ita was a wonderful wise, kind and supportive colleague to me and all of us at O'Grady-Petyton. May she rest in peace

Ita was e great friend of mine and I have missed her.
Over the years we spent many happy holidays together at home and abroad.

Miss Leydon was a key part in our excellent nurse training on St James's Hospital. In later years she would always stop for a quick chat en route to mass here in Rathfarnham. A lady.
