Margaret Nelis
(née Connaghan)

I was very sad to learn of Margaret's death. She was so kind to me when I came to Ireland and I have very warm memories of her. I learnt about her death only today ( 18th Feb) so please excuse the delay. There were lots of laughs and great moments in Lossett around tea and cakes, chasing cows up the road and bringing in the turf. The most incredible moment was following Margaret on the pilgrimage (something our ancestors had done) and an unforgettable moment visiting the Holy Well ( with Margaret pulling out a jug from her handbag so I could drink the water). It was an amazing experience. Not only was I lucky to meet her as a human being, but also lucky to meet a cousin- who explained so much to me about our family and welcomed me with open arms.I'll light a candle for her in my village church here in France and raise a glass to her memory. I am so lucky to have known her - even a little. She was a wonderfully warm person and my heart goes out to you her children and grandchildren.
