Peggy and Ignatious O’Kane and the entire O’Kane family- the amount of people that stayed in O’Kanes with relatives in hospital, especially St. Luke’s - we owe them an unending gratitude. We were so sad to learn of Peg’s passing. She was the most friendly and kind neighbour. I enjoyed our chats out Cork and Kerry and she give our children such time and attention. They loved calling in for biscuits and blackcurrant and feeding Gizmo carrots. We will think to her often as we go on our walks and pass her house.

I was really saddened to hear the sad news re Peggy. As a young teenager I remember when she and Iggy arrived in Cypress Grove as newly weds and quickly became friends with all around. Alway welcoming and of course time for chats and with the arrival of Susan and the boys kept many of us teenagers busy babysitting. She and Iggy were just lovely people. Sympathies to all.

I am very sorry to hear about your mother's recent passing. I have fond memories of her minding us young boys on a few St Pius X outings, always smiling and making us laugh.

Later, when we hung out together in our teenage years and early twenties, she was so welcoming when we came to your homs and she always had time for us, even in our mischief.
