Peggy was simply a force of nature. Like gravity, you couldn't resist her; like a whirlwind, she wasn't to be scorned or ignored; like electricity, she would sparkle with energy and mischief.

She was the "Face of Ireland" to us youngsters raised in England. She was the first and last port of call on the annual pilgrimage across the Irish Midlands. She was the whirling dervish of activity who doted on her family and her easy-going, laid-back younger brother, our father, Tony Snr.

We'll miss her so much and, in some small way, we share the enormous loss that is borne by her children, grandchildren and so many friends around the world.
