Margo was one kind fun loving lady, with a great sense of humour & a beautiful smile.
She taught accommodation & later she made a point of welcoming me back when I returned many years later.
We enjoyed many laughs , what wonderful stories she shared. Margo was always so encouraging whenever you met her.
A very special lady .Rip

We always kept in touch so I’ll miss her.

I was very happy to have been able to connect online with the "uplifting" celebration of Margo´s full life. Fr.John summed it up very well in saying that "Her life stood in opposition to the vulgarity
and "brashness" of today".
RIP
Our sincere condolences to Margo’s nieces, nephews and the extended Bellew family. I first went to Cathal Brugha Street in 1978 and Margo knew more about me then, than I knew about myself ! Having hailed from Ramsgrange in Wexford, she took me under her wing. She was the most loving, encouraging and genuine educator of her time. She had such a wonderful personality, so much so that we all became her friend and had Margo at our weddings and any other occasion worth celebrating over the years. Margo had a sincere interest in how you were getting on in your career. She nominated me to become a Fellow of the IHI and made sure it happened, I’m deeply saddening to hear of her passing. She was one in a million and much loved by us all. A life well lived. Rest in Peace Margo. Mattie O Connor

She was a great teacher, mentor and friend, who continued to support me and many others long after we left her class room. Margo was the one who pushed me to apply for a position in CERT in the late 80's - a game changer for my career and indeed my life.

She was kind, great fun and I always enjoyed meeting her and grateful for her time. Rest well Margo x

Dearest Margo,
I write this to you and not about you! I’m so sorry to hear of your leaving.
From the time I was your student and later your colleague, you supported me through everything and offered so much encouragement and advice! I’m grateful for all that you did for me and my young family at the time I joined the staff in Cathal Brugha Street!
You always had a story to illustrate a point and told it with a twinkle in your eye! But Margo, I will always remember your kindness and the sound of your laughter in the corridors of the college! You were especially welcome in the restaurant when Tony Conlon and myself hosted it…a brilliant guest who always acknowledged the student’s efforts!

During my terms on IHCI Council and later as Deputy President and President I worked closely with Margo. We became friends. We didn't always agree over Institute affairs however I always valued her advice and counsel and sought it when I needed guidance in making critical decisions. Margo was a steadfast, loyal Member who's aim was always to promote the professionalism of Members in general and in particular to improve the standing and recognition of women in our Industry. Her name and her work in these regards must not be forgotten in the passing of time. Rest well Margo, your laurels will forever remain green. Joe

Aunty Margo as we have always called her was great friends with our mum Pam O'Donovan ( née Connolly). She was great fun. Coming from a family of 8 kids we loved her visits to Athy growing up & we enjoyed many laughs with her over the years. We aways enjoyed her company. Aunty Margo showed great interest in each one of our lives in her many conversations on the phone with mam over the years, she attended nearly all of our weddings. It was always lovely to meet her. We have very fond memories of Aunty Margo, may she now rest in peace. Amen.
