To David, Louise & Susan, we were so saddened to hear the news of Marie's passing. We have some very fond memories of Marie from Drynam Close, a true Dublin character with a real passion for music and always a story to tell. I'm so sorry to hear of Maria's passing, she was so kind and thoughtful but I'll remember her mostly for her sense of humour and divilment. I'm just happy that I was lucky enough to know her and share the craic with her on many occasions. Condolences to Louise, Susan and David on the loss of your mam. What a great character she was. I first met her back in the 1970's, when she was secretary to the boss, and part of her job was to take the apprentices under her wing. She looked after us, made excuses for us and told saucy jokes with the best of us. We used to walk up Clonliffe Road together after work, a long road, which led to a long friendship. It was her who organised a night out with some old colleagues from Cahills about 20 years ago. She was (still) the most popular person in the room! We only spoke recently on the phone and reminisced about the old days, and I was heartbroken to hear of her illness. I will always have great memories of her. Rest in peace, Maria.
