Sincere condolences to the O'Connell family at this very sad time. Mrs. O’Connell was one of my favourite teachers during my time in the Presentation in Clonmel. She gave so much extra to me as her student, she helped with life skills as well as delivering the curriculum in such a professional and engaging manner. We were greatly saddened today on learning of the death of Maria. Our sincerest sympathies to you - Pat, David, Aisling, Alice and Zara and the extended Clery and O'Connell families. on your sad loss. We were strangers to you - Maria, Pat and David when you welcomed us into you home on our arrival in Clonmel in 1986. We will be forever grateful for the kindness and hospitality the three of you extended to our family.
Maria was also a very supportive colleague to me during my twelve years in Presentation Secondary School, Clonmel.

Fadó fadó she was my partner in the Pres. in the domestic science class..2nd yr I think..even at that age she was the expert and she 'carried' me as I hadn t a clue..little did I think when I bumped into her in Minella, not so long ago, that we would not meet again..
