Marian Commane

It is with great sadness that I learned of Marian’s passing. My deepest sympathies to Marian’s family at this time. I worked in GOSH with Marian and have many fond memories! Marian was the life and soul of the party and always there to support her colleagues. Marian was a kind, caring and compassionate lady. I enjoyed chatting with her and talking about home - Ireland and her wonderful Clare! Remembering that infectious laugh- may you Rest in Peace Marian.

My deepest heartfelt sympathy to Marian’s family and all who she knew. I had the pleasure to be taken under her wing at times during my first couple of years as a newly qualified nurse at GOSH. Her bright eyes and cheeky smile and her keenness for learning to make nursing practice better and further develop herself has been a huge inspiration for me. I’m sorry.

I was very saddened to hear of Marian's passing who was taken from us too soon.

I met Marian at the London Chest hospital, London back in 1982. I joined Marian in Riyadh in June 1985. We remained great friends since. She was a fun loving, true friend who was kind, generous and loyal to all who knew her.She loved to travel and enjoyed her Indian food. She also made great spring rolls when entertaining her friends.

I was so saddened to learn of Marian's passing.
I met Marian at Heathrow in October 1984. We were both going to Riyadh to work in The Millitary Hospital.
Marian was a lovely kind lady, full of fun and laughter. Everyone liked her and she had lots of friends. I know her other friends from Saudi will miss her very much

I had the privilege of knowing Marian for all my years of working at GOSH. She was throughout a hard working, dedicated nurse who gave her all to every patient and family she cared for. She will be remembered for her raucous laugh and vibrant personality that could bring light to the hardest of days. Not forgetting the eye watering chilli pepper that accompanied every lunch! I was extremely saddened to hear about Marian. I had the privilege to work with her for a great number of years at Great Ormond Street where she was a very well known and well liked member of our team and a great nurse. Marian was a kind and generous person who definitely knew her mind. It was a pleasure to work alongside her.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Marian. Such a lovely person. I haven't seen her for many years. She was lively and cheerful and a lovely singer too. I remember her well from Coláiste days.
