Although I have only known Marianne for a short period of time, I have known her to be resilient, sharp, and kind all at once. I will always cherish the memory of being floored by her wit and keen intellect when we first met. She will be missed by people across the world. My deepest condolences to Art and his family - my thoughts are with them during this difficult time.

I was deeply saddened for Art and his family when I heard Marianne had passed. She left an impression on me in only a brief time. With two questions, totalling fourteen words between them, she completely outthought, outmanoeuvred, and outwitted me, and then graciously left off her hook, to admire her sharp mind and kind heart unscathed. Although the scale of your loss must be great, I have no doubt that all you have gained from sharing a life with her is greater, and remains. My condolences.

Marianne was an absolutely amazing teacher whose care for those she taught extended far beyond the walls of the classroom. It was sad she never got more time to enjoy the retirement she so richly earned. After the many battles she fought over the past few decades she's at peace now and is no doubt looking over those she cherished most from up high.
