I have such fond memories of having Ms. Cotter as my biology teacher. A formidable lady who always got the best out of her students. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

I was very sad to hear of Marie's death.I have lovely memories of supervising state exams with her some years back in Waterford and Thurles schools.She was always so uplifting,funny and encouraging. May she rest in peace

She will be sadly missed at our Monday morning bridge in Clonmel where she so generously gave of her time and knowledge of bridge helping all who came to that session. She also helped out at the Tuesday afternoon bridge session and I was lucky enough when my partner couldn’t come on 2 or 3 occasions she stepped in and partnered me. Such a lovely lady. Marie was a truly special person — kind, patient, and generous with her time and talents. I will always remember her for the encouragement and belief she showed me as a terrified First Year student struggling with maths. With gentle reassurance and guidance, she gave me the confidence to never look back — to study honours Maths and, more importantly, to love it.

Sincere condolences on the sad passing of Ms Cotter- a great teacher who was so passionate about science. Lots of great memories from her classes- she could be stern(always ensuring our school ties were up and the top buttons of our shirts/blouses were tied influence), but had a great sense of fun also(if you got her laughing it was infectious!). Loved using her Gaeilge-can still hear her calling students "gligíns" if there was any messing! May she rest in peace.
