Mark,Leslie,Declan and all the extended family. Sorry to learn of Marie’s death,belatedly. She was a trusted helper and friend to my parents,especially my Mum. She was a kind and considerate lady. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

I was very sorry to hear of Marie's death, and too late to attend her final ceremony. Marie was a great friend and support to my mother through the eighties, nineties and naughties. Such generosity of spirit is rare and she had it in spades.

I first met her in Lourdes many years ago, and she invited me to join her pilgrimage that day. Myself and my late husband Joe went on pilgrimage with her for many many years after that. She then encouaged me to be a Group Leader and run my own group to Medjugorje which I am doing to this day. A lovely lady, may her gentle soul rest in peace.

Every Thursday afternoon for a year in the mid 60’s Marie went to the Cinerama in Talbot Street with her friend Joan to watch The Sound of Music .

Marie lived with us in Monkstown for many years before she married Matt.
She was a big part of the Rowan family and a great support to my Mother Eithne. Marie was initially deeply involved with looking after my sister Ashling and was a second Mother to her. She later took over the running of our family home. She became a notably successful and highly praised cook and produced many fine dinner parties.

Marie was in the heart of our family in Monkstown for nine fabulous years from 1964 and we have so many fun and happy memories of her. Never a dull moment with Marie! How lucky we all were that she lived with us and how deeply grateful I am that she cared for me with such motherly devotion from when I was a newborn.
May you have a swift passage back into heaven Marie and into the arms of your beloved Matt and your loved ones there. May you fill it laughter, singing, dancing and your passion and kindness for others, just as you filled our home in Monkstown.
