Condolences to Marie’s family and extended relatives on the passing of Marie. I lived in the neighbouring town land of Clontubrid, in the parish of Gortletteragh where Marie’s father came from. I remember her aunt Brigie and her uncles Tommy, Mickie, and P(Peter). They were the most descent and generous people you could hope to live beside, lovely people, the salt of the earth. Dearest Sarah, Karl & Austin, heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beloved Marie.

I met Marie for the very first time when she dropped her little Sarah off at Warrenmount junior infants for her first day (kicking and screaming might I add), and we all became inseparable from then, BFFs for over forty years. Marie was like a second mother to us, all the Mammy's joined at the hips (Marie, Teresa, Carmel), just like their daughters, and all our hearts are absolutely broken at her passing.

Marie's kindness, warmth and strength will continue to live on in each of you, especially her wicked sense of humor, she was full of the craic, she loved the craic, and we will all miss that craic. Each of her children, Sarah, Karl & Austin are a beautiful reflection of the woman who raised them.

Thinking of Marie cherished grandchildren and her extended family during this sad time, she loved you all (just maybe not sharing her chocolates with you though!).

There will be a glass of Guinness waiting for you Marie, to toast the incredible woman you were, and the gang from Leitrim, Monaghan and Dublin will be waiting with open arms to greet you. No doubt it will be the biggest hooley that ever was!!

I'm doing your thumbs up gesture right back at you Marie, your little signal to reassure us all that no matter how hard life got "we've got this". Now you can rest easy Marie - "we've got you".
