I am so sorry for your loss. Marie was such a wonderful lady and a truly fabulous human being as well as being an absolute fashion icon. She was like a second nanna to me. I have such lovely memories of her from growing up, especially through my friendship with Andrea - all the times we went to her house after school for playdates, where Marie would mind us and make us the best ice creams. She always remembered special occasions and celebrated all our milestones over the years, which meant so much. She will be missed dearly. Thinking of Antoinette, Andrea, David and all the extended family at this very difficult time. May she rest in peace x

Antoinette,David & Andrea and all the Dillon family, I was very sorry to hear about Granny Marie. She was always so nice to me when I’d pop in to Meadow Springs to do the odd job for her. Was some battle trying to refuse money and then she would try sweets or chocolate! She was great for giving us Murray kids cards for birthdays or achievements. RIP Marie

Antoinette, Pauline, Patrick, David and Anna Marie you honoured your mom so well today. I cannot put into words how much she meant to me and I want to thank you all for accepting me as an honorary sixth child in your family and to the Crawford and Dillon families for welcoming me with open arms.

Marie meant so much to me and to all who worked with her. I met Marie when I was 18 and she took me under her wing and quickly became my Swamp mammy which grew to a whole new level. She was the constant in Swamp. We have her to thank for all the fabulous friendships over the years as she created such a loving Swamp family. Work was never work with Marie around. She really was the life and soul of the place. An icon in Limerick. Just the most thoughtful and loving soul.

She never missed an occasion or a reason to celebrate and I'm so grateful we got to spoil her while we had the chance. I have such fond memories with her that I will cherish forever. She was one in a million.

I was very sad to read about Marie’s death in the Independent.Marie was a customer in the Five Star Supermarket where I worked in the early seventies.I have never forgotten her!She was the most beautiful person,always good humoured,stylish and extremely generous.I have often thought about her and wondered about her,so it was a pleasure to hear the beautiful eulogy given by her daughter Antoinette at her funeral mass.Rest in peace beautiful Marie X
