Sincere sympathy to Cosmo and family on the passing of Marie. She was a lovely lady - may she rest in peace with Joe and the angels.
Deepest condolences Cosmo. Where to begin, we have been friends forever, from when Fred and Joe lived together in the "Batchelor Flats" in Castle St, in Sligo, to our weddings and Cosmo being born at the same time as my Peter. So many many menories - all good. Remembering when Joe and Marie visited us in Surrey and we talked her into taking the Eurostar to France for lunch. She didn't want to go under the water, but when she did she loved it. There are lots more. A great lady, a great couple. Thinking of you.
Cosmo, so sorry to hear the sad news about your mum. We are thinking of you, Gilian, Mark, Rebecca and Emma at this very sad time.

Dear Cosmo, Gillian, Mark, Rebecca and Emma,
Sincere sympathies on your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
I have many fond memories of Marie over the years, going back to the time in the early 1970’s when the Floods moved into The Rise. Marie, having met my mother Bernie, at the shops (probably deliberately), arranged for a play date for Cosmo and I, so that he could be included as part of the gang. And the rest as they say is history. I spent many great days (and evenings) in her company, both in The Rise and in Deerpark Tennis Club, including at their renowned annual dinner dances in local hotels. Herself and Joe were fabulous hosts for house parties, and as teenagers we would be given duties of looking after the cloakroom, serving drinks and tidying up afterwards (dickie-bows were usually provided). Their house had an open-door policy for me, anytime day or night. She was ALWAYS interested to hear how everything and everyone was getting on. A wonderful lady with a great sense of style, good conversation and great humour. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved Joe.
