Thoughts and prayers to you all on the passing of Maire. I had the pleasure of meeting her over the years, always had a smile and always made feel welcome.

My very sincere sympathy to the McNamara and O'Connor families, neighbours and friends on the passing of much loved Marie. She and her late husband, Michael, were very special friends of my own late husband, Michael and myself, going back a long time. What a vivacious, kind, talented and charitable person she was, upright and true, and a privilege to know. I ndidean De go buan.

So sad to hear of Marie's passing; a marvellous, witty, intelligent bright person. Many of us in the forestry community knew Marie through her great partnership with Michael since they were married – they met through their involvement with the Samaritans in Cork. They shared a new career in private forestry from around 1976 I think after both retired – Marie had been a secondary school teacher. They kept the forestry adventure going after many would have retired. What a great pair. Sincere sympathy to the McNamara family and Marie's friends on your sad loss. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
