I knew Marie through working in the GSH
many years ago.
My memories of Marie was that of a wonderful lady, always smiling and ready help.
What amazing tributes have been paid to her by her many friends, May Marie's gentle soul RiP.

Marie was a lovely lady who always said hello while taking her dog for a walk. She was very thoughtful and told me she walked in the evening as her pet loved chasing foxes. I thought it was very kind of her to adjust her schedule so her pet stayed happy. I hope she is resting in peace after that tragic accident.

Our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to all the Hession/McMunn Families on the very sad and sudden untimely death of our great friend and colleague at GSH Galway (Marie RIP.) God console and comfort you all during this time of immense grief and may Marie's kind and gentle soul now rest in great peace in her Heavenly Home.

I was very saddened to hear of Marie's tragic passing recently a lovely lady who I remember fondly from the old G.S.H days.Condolences to her family.RIP

It was always the best news when we were told Marie as coming to visit. She always had bags and bags of sweets for us!!
She was a wonderful lady and a great friend to my mother Noreen Gilligan.

Marie,
A wonderful lady, who came into our store regularly to chat and say hello to us all. She always had a lovely smile on her face for us and we were all the better for it when she called in. Great chats were had, Marie will be sadly missed by us all.

Marie was such a joy to be with, intelligent, witty, great fun and that big smile-she lit up every room she entered.
I have such happy memories of our five years in 'The Lawn' Boarding School, St. Joseph's Convent of Mercy, Castlebar and our meetings in the intervening years.

So sad to hear of Marie's death. She was an absolute darling. We'd only gone for coffee with her after Bernard Macs funeral 2 months ago. First time seeing her since covid. We had such a good laugh with stories of working in The Southern together in the 70s. She was always a delight to run into in Galway since I came home from the States in the 90s.

We are so terribly saddened to learn of Marie’s untimely passing. She was such a fantastic neighbour who always took the time to talk and enquire about the kids. We would often see her walking with “Lady” wind/rain or shine. They were the best of friends.

Josephine, I was devastated to hear about the tragic accident that took Marie from us so suddenly. Please accept my deepest sympathy. Marie meant so much to me from the moment we first met as 1st Year Boarders in "The Lawn" St Joseph's Convent, Castlebar in the early 60's. Marie was very bright and brilliant at both Mathematics and Latin. It is a great tribute to her that she was loved by everybody. May she rest peacefully
