Our deepest sympathies to the Joyce family on the passing of Marie. We were saddened to hear the news. May her gentle and smiling soul rest in peace with her beloved husband Tommie and their beautiful son, Stephen.

Marie shared her love of languages with us by helping to prepare us for French examinations and always spoke to us trí Ghaeilge. Her teaching will always remain close to the Lavins.

Sincerest condolences to the Joyce and Beatty families on the deaths of Marie and Tommy. Mrs Joyce as I knew her taught me French and Irish in St Joseph’s secondary school. She was a great teacher, very hardworking but also very kind and good fun. I have only good memories of her, she always came into class with a smile and was so friendly if we met outside of school. I didn’t know Tommy very well but did sit beside him & his brother Tony in Croke Park when Knockmore GAA club got to the All Ireland club final. While we didn’t win the match we had great fun chatting with Tommy & Tony that day. May your memories of Marie & Tommy bring you some comfort in the days and months ahead. May they rest in peace.
