I heard the news today. Marie was such a lovely woman, and I have fond memories of her when she was a part of our family many years back. My deepest condolences to the family. I was shocked and saddened to hear the news. May she rest in peace.

Marie had multiple roles, and one was 'a neighbour' to me and my family. She excelled in that role, as she did in her many much more important roles.

Fun, humour, warmth, hospitality, kindness, elegance, integrity were some of her hallmarks. Widely loved and respected, deservedly, as are her family. That make her parting so shocking and sad. Remembering too her late and outstanding husband, Brendan, whose passing came far too soon.

My love and sympathy to her wonderful King family of Clontarf and her close & wondeful Loftus siblings in Tuam, both of whom, Marie was so proud.

I have wonderful childhood memories that continued into my adult life , particularly enjoyed the choir days spent with Marie and many Christmas’s spent together. She was always an amazing host.

I simply can't explain the warmth of the King home that Marie created. It was a safe and fun place for all of us growing up and arguably, that kitchen island would have seen better days if she hadn't made it so inviting. Marie radiated such kindness, beauty and grace everywhere she went and this lives on clearly in the rest of her family.

I'm so very sorry and shocked to hear this news about Marie. I'm afraid I didn't know she was ill. So sorry.

So many years since we've all met as cousins -as we've sadly lost touch with busy lives etc, but I have lovely childhood memories of
spending some precious time around Tuam and spending time with beautiful Marie and all of our cousins and her late parents, Maureen and Tim. Everyone always made us feel very welcome.
Marie was always so lovely and kind
( like all the Loftus family) and she always had a really radiant smile- she should have been a Galway Rose! A real lady even back then.
