I am very sorry to hear of Marie’s recent and sudden passing. We were neighbours who I would meet in Killester as we both walked our dogs. She was a kind and thoughtful neighbour. My condolences to her sister and wider family and friends.

I had the pleasure of working with Marie when I first joined Ibec. She brought a thoughtful joy to the team, always making sure everyone’s birthday was celebrated and organising a competitive sweepstake for every Great British Bake Off. Though, we all rooted against Marie—because it meant, she had to bake for the team, and my god, she was a talented baker. She will be genuinely missed, and I am very sorry for your loss.

Such sad news and sending my sincerest condolences to all of Marie’s family and friends.

Marie was a fabulous work colleague of mine for seven years. She was dedicated and professional in her own work, whilst being a rock who always made sure everyone else was ok.

I loved my chats with Marie. Such love and pride in her family as well huge passion in her hobbies – reading, baking, art history, gardening.

One hobby Marie had was called “postcrossing” which involved sharing postcards with strangers across the world. She would often show me postcards she had received and ask me to guess where it was from. But what this really showed me was Marie’s infectious curiosity in different people and places as well as her desire to connect.

So so sorry to hear of Marie’s passing - she was a true gem - always genuinely kind and helpful to all and a constant supportive anchor to her colleagues. She was just lovely and a sad loss. Condolences to those she held close.

I don't think Marie had any idea how loved and liked she was. She brought such a lovely calm and warmth where ever she was, especially with young people. I saw this both in Ibec and in Killester. Her absence from both places can't be described in a few words. She will be sorely missed. Rest in peace lovely Marie.

So sorry to hear this sad news. Marie was a diamond in the rough. Every colleague and friend of hers in Ibec was always richer, having just had a conversation with Marie. What a legacy to leave us with. What an amazing lady. Rest in peace and thinking of her beloved family.

Like many, I had the pleasure of working with Marie for many years. A nicer, kinder women you would not meet. She was a beautiful peraon who went out of her way to help anyone who needed it. The world would be a much better place if there were more Marie's in it.

So very sorry to hear this news. My sympathies to Brenda and all the family for what you are going through.

For so many of us who worked in IBEC, Marie was such a central part of our working lives. She supported us, watched out for us and encouraged us. Above all, she minded us. On more than one occasion I came into work to find a much needed bottle of lucozade sitting on the desk because she knew my plans from the night before. And then there was the baking - I have yet to taste a lemon drizzle cake as good as Marie’s.

She was so proud of her family and all your successes and it is such a pity for you all that her well earned retirement has been cut so short.

Marie was one of the most kind, most loyal and most genuine souls you could meet. She was a lady to her fingertips and the world is definitely a lesser place without her.

May Marie rest in well deserved peace.

I am so sad to hear about Marie's passing. I worked with her in both CII and Ibec, I left over 10 years ago but often ran into her in Killester, the last time was outside the Orange Goat. It was always like we saw each other every day. She was a true lady and wonderful to work with, so dedicated. I must mention Marie's fabulous cakes, they were amazing.

The Committee and Members of St. Brigid’s Seniors (Friendship Club) wish to extend to all of Marie’s family, sincere condolences.

Marie was one of the first volunteers to step up when St. Brigid’s Resource Centre was built. More recently she gave even more of her time to her Community.
