I worked with Marie in St Peter the Apostle SNS when I was fresh out of college. I will always remember her as being kind, caring and full of fun. She had a huge impact on staff, pupils and the whole community.

We are so sorry and shocked to hear ùof Marie's passing.
We knew Marie and Dan a long time ago when we shared a house in Sydney, Australia. Our memories of Marie are that of a wonderful, fun loving friend with whom we had some great ,interesting and very happy times.
As happens in life we lost touch later on when our lives took different paths but we never forgot these times & often spoke fondly of Marie and Dan.
This year we got in touch via text message to suggest having a reunion. Marie, as we expected, responded warmly, sending us photos of her beautiful family. She and Dan were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary by going on a cruise,so we had planned to meet up later in the Summer. We are so sorry that this is not to be .We are glad that we had at the least got in touch and very grateful that she and Dan had time to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

I am so sorry to hear about Marie's passing. We loved when Marie would come into the salon every month for her nails. Always up for the chats, her infectious laugh would light up the room. She adored her family and friends, always giving us the latest stories and updates. It was a privilege to have known you Marie. May you rest in Peace

So sorry to hear of Marie’s passing. She was a regular client of mine in No.29 Nail Salon for the last 4 years and I always loved seeing her name on my roster as we’d have great chats from start to finish of her appointments. I will miss our laughs together in the salon. RIP Marie xx

She was my principal for 3 years, out of my 8 years teaching in Neilstown.
She was always most supportive and kind to me and all the staff, and nothing was too much for her. She had a fabulous sense of humour too and I can still recall some of her funny stories on staff nights out!!
She gave me the most beautiful reference when leaving Neilstown to move closer to home.

Dan and Eavanna I am so very sorry for your loss. I didn’t know Marie very well but every meeting I had with her up Mullens Hill ended on a positive note usually with a good laugh. She had such amazing energy and I learned so much from her in our short chats, I only wish I’d had time to get to know her better. I’ll think of her whenever I’m up there.

Marie was an amazing leader, an absolute joy to be around and always built people up. She gave me my first teaching job and made me feel so at home from the start. I am so sorry for Dan, Eavanna, Ezra, Kathy, Eileen and family. The rose still grows beyond the wall.

I had the honour and good fortune to have worked with Marie in Neilstown in the 90s and again in recent years in Scoil Cholmcille in Ballybrack.
Marie had tremendous presence and empathy. She was such a support to me as my chairperson on the BOM of our school.
She was warm, good fun and generous with her time and was a true socialist in every sense of the word. This combination made her an inspirational educational leader.

I knew Marie from swimming for many years. Marie brought sunshine to the gym on dreary winter mornings; bright and early smiles on summer days. Marie had an encouraging word for everyone. She was so proud of, and happy for, you all. Her face lit up when talking about you, especially Ezra.

It was very sad to hear of the passing of Marie. From childhood I remember her as a larger than life character and so full of craic and fun. My family and I have great memories of holidays and gatherings where she was the life and soul of the party.

Marie was my mother in-law, friend and someone I sought guidance from. She was one of the strongest women I've ever known. Kind, compassionate, funny, but didn't suffer fools gladly. She called it as she saw it. She was an amazing mother to my wife, she was an amazing Grandmother to Ezra. The last time we saw her was at Marie and Dan's 50th Wedding Anniversary. She had a huge impact on my extended family. We are all so shocked and sad. But I know Marie would like us to Celebrate her life. And that is what we will do! Love you always Granny Marie! So very sorry to hear this news. Marie was a great friend of my parents for over 50 years and my own godmother. She had a great sense of fun and laughed loud. From our family holidays to Portugal in the early 90’s to my own wedding in Spain a couple of years ago there was rarely a dull moment when Marie was involved.
