She was a most special and lovely lady who gave so much of her time to help the community of Naas. The students of Naas VEC and Piper’s Hill College loved her wonderful Irish dancing teaching for many years during Seachtain na Gaeilge. I had the privilege of visiting Marie recently and it was lovely to catch up with her and travel down memory lane.
Marie, you will be remembered with fondness and love.

Über viele Jahre lang hat sich Marie Kelly gemeinsam mit weiteren engagierten Bürgerinnen und Bürgern aus Naas für den Aufbau und die Pflege der Städtepartnerschaft zwischen Naas und Dillingen engagiert.

Ich habe Marie Kelly als Persönlichkeit sehr gemocht und geschätzt. Die gewachsene Freundschaft zwischen unseren Städten geht ganz maßgeblich auch auf Maries Engagement zurück - mit so viel Überzeugung und Herzblut war sie dabei. Gern erinnere ich mich an unsere zahlreichen persönlichen Begegnungen, sowohl in Naas als auch bei uns in Dillingen, zuletzt etwa bei der Regionalmesse WIR.

Unsere Stadt wird Marie Kelly ein ehrendes Andenken bewahren und verneigt sich in Dankbarkeit vor ihren Verdiensten für unsere Städtepartnerschaft.

Marie was largely responsible for the town twinning for the Dillingen marching band and the town of Dillingen.
At every meeting with Marie, our band felt that she always took us to her heart through her honest and warm manner.
We will miss her laughter and her love of music for our band very much.

Marie was an integral part of Naas Twinning Group. Whether representing Naas abroad or hosting delegations in Naas, her involvement greatly enhanced the relationships we enjoyed with our twin towns of Allaire, France, Casalattico, Italy, Dillingen on the Danube, Germany, Omaha, Nebraska, US & St David’s, Wales. She built life long friendships through twinning and we are truly indebted for all her hard work over the years. Rest in eternal peace Marie !

John enjoyed dressing as Santa and giving out the presents every year and Marie was a huge help serving out the meals to everyone with her usual beaming smile.
