I am absolutely gutted to learn of your passing today Marie.

You were such a brilliant, thoughtful friend to me all through the years since my time in London. You and Sandy gave me so much care and I have very fond memories of us galavanting around London and West Cork together.

You had such life in you- your sense of spirit and fun and wit made you the best company ever. You always had a laugh in you and you were always so giving, despite any hardships you faced.

You were the most loving &devoted sister to Eddie right up until the end. I admired you so much. I only wish we could have met again. But seeing you a few months ago down in Skibb, with Trevor and Josh, was a lovely last memory of you to have.

I have been thinking about you every single day. I would have loved the opportunity to say goodbye. I will forever miss you and hold you in my heart.

The News of your death came to me, just about when I conceived the thought of sending Easter greetings to you and also a message to be delivered to your brother V.Rev Fr Eddie Hartnett; as you have been a link between us since He(Fr Eddie) returned to Ireland after so many years of meritorious Mission in Nigeria. You were a great support to Him during His Mission. You were always there offering support from a distance which I believe was a strength to Him on His Mission.
Some go to Mission by going, others go to Mission by giving, yours was by giving while supporting and encouraging your brother Missionary Priest(Fr Eddie).
My own family(Kenliho) had been closely united with the Hartnett family in Ireland for over forty years and you had played a big role in making us to feel part of you, even though we are miles apart.
Thank you for all you had done, especially for your Priest brother and for the people of God in Badagry Seacoast. May you receive the rewards of a good and faithful servant.
As the saying goes in Badagry:

It was a shock to hear of Marie's sudden death last Tuesday as we messaged each other on Monday regarding our weekly Bridge game. We were partners on BBO during Covid and continued as partners when the Club opened again. She loved Bridge and I learned a few good tips from her. I will miss her and may she rest in peace. Brigid
