My deepest sympathy to James and family on the sudden passing of Marie. I worked with Marie in Church & General Ins. Co. in Cork in the 1970s and she was such good company, so helpful and efficient and always in good humour. Her death came as such a shock. May she Rest in Peace. I had the pleasure of working alongside Marie in the Mercy Primary School in Cappoquin. Marie was a superb school secretary. Her kindness, efficiency , good humour and work ethic were legendary. She understood people and had that rare ability to put others at ease. Marie was generous with her time and along with her beloved James, sold tickets every year at the Christmas Sale of Work in the primary school in Cappoquin. Loyalty and integrity were synonymous with Marie. I will miss meeting her and most especially, her warm welcoming smile.

It is with a deep sense of shock, sadness and disbelief that I received the news of Marie’s death. My deepest sympathy to James, Paul, Brian and Emma on behalf of all of us Sisters of Mercy and Staff who worked so closely with Marie in Scoil an Chlochair and who were touched by her dedication, commitment and love of pupils and Staff alike.
