It was with deep sadness upon hearing the news of our lovely cousin Marie's parting. I loved all our telephone calls and especially meeting my late Aunty Nora. Rest in Peace Marie. Paddy and all family members you are in our thoughts and prayers. 💕🙏 Noreen & Peter.

My sincere sympathies to all of Márie’s family. I met her a few times in Bishopscourt, where my mother is a resident, and she was such a lovely lady.

We have only just learnt the sad news that Máire has passed away. Our sincere condolences to Paddy and family, nephews, nieces, the extended Murphy and Kelly families. You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. We had the pleasure of bringing Máire and Paddy on a pilgrimage to Rome many years ago. She was wonderful person and she had that unforgettable and most beautiful gentle voice, hopefully, preserved forever in the RTE Radio sound archives. May Máire's gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Belated deepest sympathy to Marie’s family on their great loss, which I have just heard about. I owe Marie a great deal for her help and assistance in my early years in broadcasting. She was an outstanding person, of immense qualities and abilities. Her ‘Young World’ series was presented with great skill and personality, for which she was duly honoured. She guided the operation of the RTÉ Cork studios with great assurance and care. I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing while I have been abroad. May Marie rest in peace. Ger Canning

We met frequently down through the years and I greatly valued our friendship. She was a superb presenter with a wonderful "radio voice"

Sad to hear of Marie’s passing.
She always treated me to the china tea cups and saucers when I was allowed to visit Cork from “head office”as she called Montrose.
She was one of the old school people in RTE that made it a wonderful place to work.
