Marie will forever be a warmth figure in my childhood memories.Memories filled with joy and laughter and of a woman who embraced me and very much made me feel like I was family. That meant a lot to a kid. That meant a lot to me. What a gift she had, and what a wonderful gift to have left behind. Thank you Marie.

Sincere condolences to you, David and Rozalia, on the heartbreaking loss of your much-loved mother, Marie. She adored you both, as you did her.

My deepest sympathies also to you, Micheál, Seamus, Aidan, Noeleen, Della and of course Catherine. You are an admirably close family and will no doubt be there for each other during this tough time.

I was always struck by the closeness of the Murphy family, with Marie at the beating heart.

Thinking also of Richard, Marie’s grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and Marie's wide circle of friends.

Marie was warm, witty, and full of life — an unforgettable presence. I remember her fondly from my childhood - (especially her hearty laugh and fondness for a good joke) and Marie was also a cracking storyteller who lived a full life.

Marie really had a zest for life, a sharp sense of humour, and a gift for bringing people together - ideally over a brandy. Marie’s memory will live on in all who had the joy of knowing her.

I can only imagine the pain, sorrow and suffering you are all feeling now. Thinking of you all.

May her beautiful, unique soul rest in peace.
