I had the greatest pleasure residing with her late father and mother and all the family at St Albans Road for 6 of the happiest years of my life. It was home from home with Marie and all my cousins. May she rest in peace.

My condolences to Sheila, Orla, Rory, Rosin and to Marie's sisters Brenda, Breda and Bernadette on receiving the sad news of Marie's passing away. I had hardly seen Marie in decades. So, my strongest memories of Marie are those of when I was a young nephew and she was a young woman. My memories from then are those of her as a handsome, strong, humorous, intelligent woman with presence and leadership qualities. I remember her giving me the important advice to always be optimistic and have a go at things. No doubt, she showed many of the above qualities in her final days fighting a debilitating and cruel disease. That fight is now over. May she Rest In Peace.

I know you're just heartbroken on the passing of your lovely mum. She was such a wonderful character, always in great form and so sociable and a pleasure to meet. You were a fabulous family to her and should have absolutely no regrets as you were so loving and caring to her always and were by her side constantly over the last few months which was tough for all of you, but you did it willingly. Testament to a wonderful loving family your mum and dad reared. She will be watching over you alongside your dad as angels forever and will always be looking out for you.

Be kind to yourselves during this difficult time. Praying for you all and especially to Eleanor, Jake and Olivia and Michael also who are a great support to you all.

Extending my most sincere, heartfelt condolences to all of Marie’s family. I got to know Marie over the past 7/8 years at the Ballyroan Active Age Club. I always looked forward to the banter we would have back and forth. Her dry wit and unfiltered sense of humour used to keep me laughing all morning. Sometimes she would give me a one liner and then walk off to dance, seeing that I was left with a look that said, “did she really say/mean/do that?”, she’d come twirling back to me saying “you know I was only joking”. I knew I’d met my match trying to keep up with her and I loved the chats be they funny or her offering sound advice on surviving my teenage boys. When she retired, she brought in the newspaper with her in it for us all to see, proud as punch. She was looking forward to a future of day trips and dancing. She will be greatly missed from our club & from our community. I hope she meets up with some of our other members that we have lost and they do a bit of dancing in the heavens.

Rest in eternal peace, Marie. You will be missed.
