Heartbroken to hear of Marie passing. So many happy memories of her kindness and caring in South Africa when her friend and our mum Mary died out there. Indeed Marie was a sister to us Rohan boys in Carricketna so many years ago.
The Hennebery family(Aunt Nell nee Rohan,Uncle Jimmy and Marie) visited the Rohan Homestead on a very regular basis.
Wonderful memories of those visits,especially Marie’s exhibition of Irish dancing “supervised” by Aunt Nell.
Unfortunately,I was unable to meet Marie last October in Ireland,but I will cherish our lengthy telephone conversation forever.

Celebrating Christmas with the McMahons in Dromalty and welcoming us into her home in Rathgar were just a few of the many ways she shared her love and wonderful hospitality.

Dear Ken. Edmond and family, deeply saddened to hear from Hugh last evening that Marie had passed. Although we had not met for some years I felt we had not parted through a mutual good friend who also holidayed in South Africa so she was very often in my thoughts and prayers as I was aware of her illness and how bravely she dealt with it. It was also lovely to have Hugh living nearby. We had such lovely times in our youth and I was privileged to be her bridesmaid too.
