I was deeply saddened to hear of Judge Marie Quirke's passing. Having worked alongside her in the Legal Aid Board, I witnessed first-hand the brilliance, integrity, and respect she brought to the legal profession.

Judge Marie Quirke was a remarkable lawyer and an exceptional judge who applied the law with wisdom, fairness, and an unwavering commitment to justice. Her profound legal knowledge and dedication to treating everyone with dignity left an enduring impact on all who had the honour of knowing and working with her. She treated all parties in her Courtroom with the utmost compassion and respect.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. My thoughts are with Judge Marie Quirke's beloved husband and two wonderful children whom she spoke of so fondly. A lovely neighbour - full of Craic!!so nice!! I’ll miss Marie😏
I worked with Marie on cases before she became a judge. She was a consummate professional who struck the perfect balance between empathy and professional objectivity. She had a way with words and a way about her. Clients intuited that Marie would do as much as she could to help them and she did. Even more than her professional skills, I remember with affection Marie's personality. Her wry humour, the glint of mischief that would light up her eyes and the deep belly laugh that could erupt from nowhere and fill the room. She was a pleasure to be around.

Marie had a fine legal brain and the Bench was a natural landing spot for her skills. No one was at all surprised that Marie "made" a good judge. While Marie is a loss to law undoubtedly the greatest loss is to Marie's family. When I worked with Marie it was very apparent that her family were her first priority. She conducted her working life and made career decisions around her family. Getting home to Alan or to do homework with her children really mattered to her. Time was not always within her control but when it was she was adept at scheduling and managing her time to maximise time with her family. My sincere sympathy to Marie's family. I am so, so sorry in particular that Marie has been taken from you so suddenly and so young. Marie was universally liked and in her too short life the tour de force that was Marie has left nothing but positive memories in this earthly world.
Alan. I appeared in front of Marie in Court on many occasions.
She was a lovely lady and a good Judge.
I was shocked to learn that she had passed away.
