We only heard of Marie’s death yesterday and are so sad. We send our condolences to Gillian and Marie’s family and friends. Marie was a remarkable lady, so positive, courageous and strong. Her sense of humour will be our abiding memory of her. Our Aunt Imelda and Marie were friends for around 30 years and it was their shared sense of humour that formed such a great bond between them. Also their love of coffee and shopping resulted in them being very well known in the shops and cafes in Blackrock. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

I was in awe of Maries gentle resiliance and her constant smile .
I knew her from her regular visits to Cafe in Marks and Spencer in Frascati Centre where Wonderful Staff were so very kind ,attentive and caring of her .

My father, John, and I were looking out for Marie these last few weeks. She always sat in front of our row at Church, and she was missed. We were very sorry to hear today that she had passed away. My father and I would like to offer Marie's family and friends our sincerest condolences. Marie, you always were in good form and always seemed to transcend your incapacity. You will be missed. Marie was a truly inspirational lady. Despite her obvious difficulties in recent years she had a smile for everyone. I will always remember her kindness to my late Mum.

Very saddened by Marie's death, a much loved neighbour and friend.. She dealt with her physical difficulties with enormous courage and good humour. She will be greatly missed.

I am deeply sorry for our loss. Marie was a remarkable person, and it was both an honor and a privilege to care for her. Though she endured immense pain and hardships, her strength and spirit shone through in ways that inspired me every day.
She taught me so much about resilience. I will always be grateful for the time I spent with her and the lessons she imparted, even in the most difficult moments.
