Was shocked and saddened to learn of Marie’s untimely passing.. she was such an approachable person which stood her very well in her work. My work was with the Traveller community and it was through educational programs our paths crossed. My sincere condolences to Marie’s husband, daughters and extended family. I am truly saddened and shocked to hear of her sudden passing. Whenever I called to Marie in MUH she was always so welcoming and greeted me with a wonderful smile, and, no matter how busy her day was, she always had time for the chat. She definitely helped me a lot and brightened up my days with her colorful stories and amazingly positive attitude to life. Thinking of you all at this very sad time she loved her family so much and I felt like I knew all of you through all the stories she regaled. She was really enjoying life since retiring and so sad it was cut way too short. May Marie’s beautiful gentle soul now rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to Marie's family. We have very fond memories of Marie when she lived next door, a lovely lady and a great neighbour.

So saddened to hear of Marie’s passing. I remember 30yrs ago during my hospital visits for type 1 as a child, it was a scary time but Marie always wore such a warm smile and generous spirit, she really did make you feel supported. Rest in peace Marie and my deepest sympathies to all her family.

Hard to imagine how such a petite character could contain her massive personality, infinite wisdom, boundless passion and endless love but that was our lovely friend Marie. My deepest sympathies to Noel, Gemma, Katie, Anna and extended family on the passing of Marie, I first met Marie when I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes nearly 20 years ago when I was just 6 years of age, she was so kind and reassuring at a scary and unknown time for my family and I. I was shocked to learn of her passing earlier this week and I want her loved ones to know that my family & I are sending our love for you all and the fabulous Marie. R.I.P

I was so sorry to learn of Marie’s passing. Marie was the first person to come and chat with me in hospital when I was first diagnosed with diabetes as a child. I will always remember her kindness and guidance throughout my time attending the diabetes clinic in Castlebar. Sincere sympathy to all Marie’s family. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Sincere sympathy to Marie's family and friends. We both worked as staff nurses in MUH in the late 1990s on many of the acute wards and her energy and sense of fun got us through those tough days.

Marie was always kind, professional and passionate about her chosen profession and this is evident in the many glowing tributes paid to her since her untimely passing.

Our Deepest Condolences to Noel, Gemma, Katie and Anna, her son in law Shane (who Jason works with) her brothers and sisters and all Marie’s extended family on Marie’s sudden passing. I am so saddened by this news.
We met Marie in 2003 as I had Gestational Diabetes, carrying twins, she carried our burden with weekly phone calls to discuss any necessary changes (and calls in between if needed) as she was like, and as good as an endocrinologist. I often reflected afterwards the stress of Marie’s job calculating the correct doses of insulin throughout a pregnancy as it changes vastly over weeks. Anyway unfortunately and fortunately at the same time, our journey didn’t end there, I was left, after pregnancy, with Type 1 Diabetes and Marie was always there for all those years at the clinic until her retirement. God Bless you Marie and Thank You for all you did for me throughout my life with Type 1. You have truly earned your place in Heaven, may your beautiful soul, Rest In Peace
