Sincerest condolences to all the family, a lady, neighbour and so wise. Great nurse educator too. We will miss her as she was part of our community. May she rest in peace AMEN.

So sad to hear this .My sympsthy to all her family who will miss her greatly .She was our class tutor in the 70s and was always kind , encouraging and helpful .During covid I used to meet her on her daily walk in Dangan .Rest in peace Marian .

I had the immense pleasure of Ms Tierney (as I knew her then) as my main nurse tutor at Galway Regional when a student nurse 1985 to 1988
She nurtured me to be the nurse I still am today

Following that we got the news of her passing the following day. We were shocked. She guided us through tough times and was a pleasure to know. May marion rest in peace x

- Any time we met her she was sort of laughing at the antics we got up to;
- She was a kind and gentle soul;
- She made each of us feel we were her favourites, though, the boys in our class definitely were!
- For those of us who found ourselves in her bad books, it never lasted long;
- She was strict but forgiving, keen to get the best out of us;
- She always took an interest in our progress, so willing to chat whenever we crossed her path after we qualified and moved on.

We remember her fondly, as she remembered us, with warmth and good humour.
