To the family of Ms Tierney, from the nursing class of Sept 1983, our sincere sympathies for your loss. The class group chat shared thoughts and stories summarised below:
- Any time we met her she was sort of laughing at the antics we got up to;
- She was a kind and gentle soul;
- She made each of us feel we were her favourites, though, the boys in our class definitely were!
- For those of us who found ourselves in her bad books, it never lasted long;
- She was strict but forgiving, keen to get the best out of us;
- She always took an interest in our progress, so willing to chat whenever we crossed her path after we qualified and moved on.

We remember her fondly, as she remembered us, with warmth and good humour.

May she rest in peace.

My deepest sympathies to Marion's family. I am a former student of Marion's. I am so thankful to her for the particularly positive impact she had on me as a student. I am now an educator myself. Her role modelling along with the professional principles she nurtured in me all those years ago, I would consider these to be at the very core of the Nurse that I was to become. Thank you Marion. May you rest in peace.
