Everyone remembers their first teacher, but not everyone is lucky enough to have such gorgeous memories of them. Your mum was like our mum during those first few important years in any child’s life. From the gold stars to the sweet treats to the hugs and kisses at the end of the day, she created and instilled so many wonderful memories that so many of us still have with us today. Colm, Niamh, and Edel, my deepest sympathies on your lovely mums passing. ❤️

Just watched the funeral service for Marita. She was a valued member of the GnTees society for many years and I've lovely memories of playing golf with her especially on our away trips. May Marita rest in peace

We are very sorry to hear of Marita’s passing. We both have very fond memories of Marita , Fiona having worked on the Belgrove complex with her for many years and if memory serves me right, it was Marita who roped me onto the committee of Córfhéile na Scoileanna.back in the 80s. Marita was a stalwart Córfhéile lady, dedicated, kind and always fun to be with. As Córfhéile 2026 approaches, she will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to have known her.

Niamh Edel Colm and Paul I am very sad on hearing of Maritas passing RIP. She was a great teacher true friend and wonderful person. I have some great memories of golf weekend away nights out and lots more. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren.

Edel, Niamh and Colin - my deepest condolences to you and the whole Gleeson family on the loss of your dear Mum. I have nothing but fond memories of her. I was lucky that she was my first ever teacher (junior infants, senior infants and first class in Belgrove) and has remained my absolute favourite teacher to this day. I was telling my son about her just last week in a chat about favourite teachers, not knowing she had passed away. I hope your own treasured memories of your wonderful Mum will help you through this difficult time.
