I have warm memories of Mark from my time in Merrion Capital. Mark was a pleasure to deal with - he approached everything with good humour and a can do attitude. He always had a smile on his face and always had time for people.

Heartfelt condolences to Pamela, Amy, Chloe and extended family on the passing of Mark. I had the pleasure to know Mark through an associated work environment for many years. Mark's presence was always heard before seen, he brought such a positive energy that was so up-lifting. Mark had such adept social skills that everyone knew him and he always made a point to take the time to check in with everyone. There were never any silences through lunchtime, he always filled the communal kitchen area with jokes and funny stories.
I hope as a family you find comfort in the stories and memories of Mark's legacy. He was a fun guy who spoke so fondly about his his family.

We are so very sorry to have heard about Mark, and are sending all of our love and deepest condolences to Pamela, Amy and Chloe, and all of Mark's family and friends. We met Mark through Pete, when Mark was spending time working in London and staying with all of the boys in Kiln Court on his London days. Mark, with all of his cheek and good nature, played a key role in us becoming a couple - and 18 years later, we still laugh at his less than subtle hints and role as match maker. While we haven't seen each other in a very long time, Mark was and will always be such an important part of our story. Thank you, Mark. Deeply saddened by the passing of Mark. I worked with him in BOI and found him to be a very kind and funny man. We all had great craic with Mark even in the most stressful of times. I was only thinking of Mark the other day. He was someone who crossed my path through work and that opportunity didn't arise over the last 2 years.

He was the funniest, most brutally and openly honest, no holds barred person, I have ever met. Through all the banter, and talk of his illness which he was very open about, one thing shone through, his love for Pamela and his daughters Amy & Chloe, and his concerns for each of them in the future.

It was so saddening to hear of Mark’s passing. Growing up Mark was a frequent and welcomed visitor to our house in Santry and became woven into our life memories. Whilst that was many moons ago, it’s clear when reading the lovely tributes here, that the Man he became retained the same smiling, friendly, energetic yet gentle qualities he displayed back then.

He will be remembered fondly by all the Smyth’s of Shanard Road.
