I was lucky to have played football with Mark many years ago when we were kids albeit he was on different planet football wise to the rest of us. Then enjoyed watching his football career with Rovers etc. We used to have a chat when meeting around the area most recently when his Dad died. My condolences to all the family. Rest in Peace Mark.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mark. He was a beautiful and gentle man with a big heart. He never passed by without a wave and smile. He will be missed by so many as he touched us all with his kindness. He was one of the really good ones; it is very sad that we will not see him around again. His gentle soul is now with God.

In formative sporting years with Rangers F.C Bushy Park circa 1969-75 I played with,observed,Mark's talent and eye for goals.I enjoyed too his wit and humour on those Easter weekend breaks with Rangers Schoolboy F.C in Blackpool and Southport .Such was Mark's footballing talent it was no surprise that Mark went on to play with distinction senior football and achieve such sporting honours with Shamrock Rovers,Waterford and Athlone.
