Mark RICHARDSON

Mark was clearly "one of the good ones". Good natured, always happy to lend a hand, adventurous, pragmatic, encouraging... the list of his positive attributes is long.

We first met close to 10 years ago and caught up regularly during his visits to the Volkswagen HQ in Wolfsburg. He helped me secure freelancing work during a challenging period thereafter and was always happy to chat about cars, family and life in general.

I know he adored you and your family, Irene, because he openly told me as much. I can't even start to imagine your loss. RIP Mark, and sending you much strength during this challenging time.

Dear Irene, I have only just found out about the tragic and untimely passing of Mark (RIP) through an article in the Dublin Gazette newspaper (for whom I provide car reviews for the weekly motors section), and I am utterly devastated, to say the least. I cannot even begin to imagine how heartbroken yourself, Ben, Max, Ava, Hugo and the extended Richardson and Egan families are at this time, and I send my most sincere condolences to you all. You may remember me, Irene, from the time we worked together in DG Opel, and I had the absolute privilege of knowing Mark (RIP) since my Renault training days in 1998. I subsequently met Mark on a number of occasions since then - at a variety of training events - and I can genuinely say that spending time with Mark always made me feel enriched and ready to take on the world. I have never met anyone as positive, inspirational, genuine and honest as Mark, and his passing has left the world a much darker place. Thankfully, Irene, Mark's memory and self-less generosity will live on through your beautiful children, and may God bless them, and you, always.

Clive, Conor, Anne, I've only just heard of Mark's tragic passing, he was a lovely guy, and although I didn't know him well when we were growing up I bumped into him a few times over the years, and he always brought a smile to my face.

We are all shocked and saddened by the news, my sister Mary tells me that Dad (Gabriel) in particular has been reminiscing about the many times that Mark came to his painting classes in Monkstown. RIP Mark.
