Very sorry to hear of Martin’s passing. He was a great coach, had no time for our excuses in trying to get out of running suicides and was also good fun. He introduced me to the game of basketball which has brought me so many friends over the years. I even recently went back to some of the shooting and fitness drills he once gave us for “homework” since lockdown started, in my back yard, with a skipping rope and a new ball - helps to stay sane! Thinking of you all, he clearly made a big impression on a lot of people, was a really great man.

Martin coached us to an All-Ireland final with St Angela's college many moons ago, and it was one of the best days of our lives!

He was an absolute gent, with the patience of a saint, and he taught us so much about life.
